As a part of their on-going commitment to maintain high standards of fire safety, Bodmin and Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust In association with GFM Facilities appointed ZERAS Industries, a division of Top Notch Contractors Limited to carry out all remedial works in conjunction with Oakleaf Consulting, this comprised of all Compartment Fire Walls / Floors and Ceilings and included all Fire Doors.
Once a Fire Strategy, works and defects were established with 3rd party surveys we were engaged and awarded the contract to undertake all maintenance and defective works that required upgrades to either Fire Stopping / Fire Barriers / Fire Doors / Ductwork / Smoke Extraction and Suppressive Gas Systems across the whole hospital site.
The Fire Protection was carried out to a high standard as required and underwritten by All manufacturers, 3rd Party Certification Bodies, and independently signed off by both Oakleaf and Capitec.
All areas were completed to a high standard which included the wards Fettle, X Ray, Garner, Harvest, Fletcher, Bowman and Harbour, all Adjacent Corridors/ Kitchens/ Staff Areas and plant areas were also included.
ZERAS’s on and off site management team(s) worked closely with maintenance and hospital staff at all levels to ensure that the project was completed with minimal disruption to the normal day to day operation of the hospital. This was a particularly sensitive project due to high dependency wards within certain departments which required regular liaison with highly trained NHS Staff to ensure the project was carried out smoothly.
